Barry Bond

Barry is a retired management consultant and a South Staffs District Councillor representing Wombourne North and Lower Penn and a Wombourne Parish Councillor.  He's the Local Authority Governor.  As a Link Governor he deals with Maths and Safeguarding (including e-safety and Looked After Children).  He is also Chair of Governors at a Special Needs school in Wolverhampton.

Matthew Cole

Matthew Cole has been a Parent Governor at Westfield since 2013.  His son and daughter came to Westfield.  Although Westfield is not within the family’s catchment area, Matthew was attracted to the great facilities and the way that although a larger school, Westfield has a friendly and child-focussed feel.  Within the governing body Matthew has responsibility for ensuring that the school provide support for those children with additional needs or disabilities. 

Phil Roper

Phil currently works in a local secondary school as a Data Manager, he has over 20 years’ experience working within the educational sector.  Although secondary school based, he has recently started to work closely with two primary schools within his academy trust and supports with tracking learner performance across each key stage of school.  He brings knowledge and experience of data analysis in each focus area, including attendance, behaviour and attainment. In addition, Phil has experience in all aspects of school life and has successfully completed his School Business Management qualification. Phil has recently entered the exciting world of parenthood and wants to help make a difference for all learners across each level of their education, regardless of their background. 

Linsey Wildsmith

Linsey Wildsmith has been a Parent Governor at Westfield since September 2022 and has a child who attends the school in KS2. She has worked in education as a qualified Media and Communications Lecturer in Further and Higher Education and as Director of Communications and Events and a charity trustee for the Love Black Country Christian network. Linsey is responsible for ensuring that the school provide well-rounded and excellent provision in our EYFS department.

Ben Wright-Jones

To me, being a Governor means helping and supporting the school and staff to deliver the very best to our current and future pupils, whilst also bringing a parent perspective. I have lived in the area for 12 years and have two children at Westfield Primary School, and they have been extremely happy since joining the school from nursery age.  As a business technology professional, I understand both the importance, and risks, technology plays in our life, being one of the channels through which children engage and learn both inside and outside of school. As a Parent Governor, I feel honoured to be able to help make a difference for all the children at Westfield, ensuring they become successful, independent, and resilient young adults.

Rebecca Sharpe

Becky Sharpe is a newly appointed parent governor for 2024. She has two children at Westfield, one in KS1 and one in KS2. Becky has worked in education since 2007 and is currently employed as an Educational and Child Psychologist with a specialism in Early Years and Inclusion. She is passionate about supporting all children to reach their full potential; Becky is keen to use her knowledge related to supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) to help the school to develop their provision for all children.

Samantha Davidson

I have recently been appointed parent governor at Westfield and I am excited to be part of the schools journey.  With 18 years of experience within the primary sector, and 9 of those years as a Deputy Headteacher, I am hoping to use my knowledge to support and challenge the school with its strategic aims and ambitions.  I am on the board of governors at another primary school and have held my position since 2016.  My daughters attend Westfield in KS2 and EYFS. They love school and are very excited that mommy is joining the school governing team.
